Q:. How does Bellevue University's accelerated degree completion program work?
A: If you have earned your associate's degree or about 60 credit hours, you can complete your bachelor's degree in as little as 12 months.
Q: What if I don't have 60 credit hours?
A: If you have fewer than 60 credit hours, we'll help you earn what you need to start an accelerated degree completion program as quickly as possible. We begin by reviewing types of learning you already have. This can include military service, corporate training, and college credits from other regionally-accredited colleges. Much of this learning can be counted as credit toward your Bellevue University degree program. Other sources of credit include CLEP, Dantes and other for-credit examinations, as well as professional certifications and licenses. Bellevue University students can also earn college credit for what they know through our ELA (Experiential Learning Assessment) program. With the ELA program, students can earn academic credit for the knowledge they have from work, outside activities and life experiences. The best way to see how many credits you already have is to talk with a Bellevue University Enrollment Counselor.

Bellevue University Social Security Number - Statement
Bellevue University recognizes that it collects and maintains confidential information relating to its students, employees, and individuals associated with the university and we are dedicated to ensuring the privacy and proper handling of this information. Your social security number is requested as the best and most effective way to identify you for the purpose of accurately processing and maintaining your educational records and is restricted to internal University use; for example, matching admission applications with SAT or GRE scores; matching admission status with financial aids; obtaining transcripts during and after graduation.
Bellevue University is required by federal law to report to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) the name, address, and SSN for persons from whom tuition and related expenses are received. Failure to provide such information may delay or even prevent your enrollment. Bellevue University will not disclose a SSN for any purpose not required by law without the consent of the student.
Q: Why does Bellevue University need my SSN?
A: It is Bellevue University policy to obtain the student's SSN for Federal Reporting/IRS purposes. The SSN is used to send all students a 1098-T tax form at the end of the year which is required by the IRS. The SSN is also used for Financial Aid purposes.
Q: How does Bellevue University use my social security number?
A: Computer records have replaced paper filing systems in most organizations. Because more than one person may share the same name, accurate retrieval of information works best if each file is assigned a unique number. Bellevue University uses the SSN in its core database and issues a unique BUID (Bellevue University identification number) for all interactions with students. The SSN both distinguishes your record from any other record and allows us to submit the IRS form. Bellevue University does not use or publish your SSN on any web pages or correspondence with you. Instead, your BUID number is used.
Q: How is this information retained? Is it secure?
A: The BRUIN site is secure from login to logout with a secure server certificate from VeriSign. This application encrypts data sent between Bellevue University’s web server and the requesting PC so that information traveling between the two computers is unreadable to third parties who may try to intercept it. This encryption is also referred to as SSL or https.
Q: Is the online library secure?
A:When the ‘Library’ icon is clicked, a regular http session is established with the online library of choice because the online library sites (i.e. ProQuest) do not support secure sessions. Since no personal information is being exchanged between BRUIN and the Online Library, encryption is not needed. The student's library access is IP authenticated. IP authentication means that the online library allows the student to use their resources because they are coming from the BRUIN system. The online library is not looking at or passing any personal or private information about the student.
