Call for speakers closes 14 March

The chance to speak in front of the current and future leaders of our healthcare systems is one not to be missed.

The   call for speakers initiative gives you an opportunity, as an individual or an organisation, to submit a proposal to speak or run an interactive session as part of the main conference programme at Leaders in Healthcare 2018. Your proposals will capture the current thinking and challenges in the areas of healthcare management and clinical leadership.

The deadline for submissions is Wednesday 14 March 2018.

To submit an application, navigate to Call for speakers and follow the step by step instructions provided there.

Applicants will be    notified of the outcome in    May 2018.

Speakers can submit a proposal on any of the following six themes:

  • Enhancing your leadership and management skills – we welcome submissions on approaches that individuals can take to develop their leadership and management skills and enhance career potential. We also welcome proposals for skills training and workshops for delegate participants.
  • Developing effective leaders  - we welcome submissions on approaches to education, training and development which are designed to grow and support leaders and leadership. Local, national and international examples from different career stages, professions and specialties are encouraged.
  • Leading innovation and improvement – we welcome submissions from individuals who are leading innovation and improvement – whether through the application of technology, or by just thinking ‘outside the box’ –  for better patient care at team, organisation or system level.
  • Leadership lessons from across the world – we welcome submissions from individuals, teams and organisations – including governments – across the globe that are leading delivery and improvements in education, training and healthcare. Examples of leading in a range of contexts – from low resource settings to highly developed countries - are encouraged.
  • Leading across systems and organisations – we welcome submissions from individuals and teams leading across complex systems in the UK or internationally.
  • Understanding leadership through research – as the evidence base linking leadership, healthcare outcomes and organisational performance grows, submissions from students, academics and researchers, in the UK and internationally, are invited to share research findings and discuss opportunities applicable to wider healthcare delivery.

Good luck to all prospective applicants - we look forward to welcoming you to Birmingham in November for Leaders in Healthcare 2018!
